John Joseph Hofstadt

John Joseph Hofstadt was born on May 19, 1945 in San Francisco, California to John Henry Hofstadt and Marjorie Vivian (Thorn) Hofstadt. John graduated from Petaluma High School in 1964. John enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965, was discharged in 1969, and served in the Navy Reserve until 1971. Following his service, John was a member of American Legion Post 237 in Pleasanton and Post 202 in Brentwood.

John married Donna Lee Anderson in 1968. John and Donna made their first home in Daily City and moved to Pleasanton in 1985. Donna preceded John in death in 2004.

John was employed by various companies in appliance repairs. John retired in 2005 and started JJ Handyman Service. John married Eileen Frances Morley in 2006 and they moved to Brentwood to make their home. John passed away on the morning of April 15, 2015. John is survived by his wife, Eileen; his three sisters-in-law, Kathleen, Maureen and Laureen Morley; and his former mother-in-law, Betty Anderson.

A remembrance service honoring John Joseph Hofstadt will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 3 at the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd., Pleasanton. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a veteran's organization of your choice.
