About this blog: In January 2002 I started writing my own online "newspaper" titled "The San Ramon Observer." I reported on City Council meetings and other happenings in San Ramon. I tried to be objective in my coverage of meetings and events, and...  (More)

Rozisms

Here are some helpful sayings I use to keep me sane (although a lot of people would disagree with that).

1. Always yell at someone when they are not there and not when they are there. You won't be interrupted, you won't have to answer any of their questions, and there won't be any hard feelings on their part when you are through.

2. Anyone who sticks their neck out should expect to have their head handed to them.

3. No good deed goes unpunished. (an oldie but goodie)

4. Being very smart is very difficult to explain to people who are not.

5. Where's the box everyone is supposed to be in? I can't find mine.

6. Don't kill yourself. It's not worth giving your enemies the satisfaction.

7. People who are paid a lot are not necessarily worth more. They only think they are.

8. Cats are better company than people. A lot of you already knew that.

9. Yelling at someone who isn't there (see #1 above) will only give you a sore throat and not hurt them at all.

10. Anyone who takes this list seriously (no snide replies), is all screwed up.

Democracy.
What is it worth to you?

Roz, I loved your sane sayings. We truly need more sanity in this crazy world we are living in--especially the nasty political stuff, and people who react without thinking--see # 4 of your sayings. You are a great supporter of our community. Thanks for all you do.

Jean,

Thanks for the nice reply. You are also a great supporter of our community. For readers who are not familiar with Jean Ohman, she is/was President of the San Ramon Historical Society and worked for many years on the restoration of the David Glass House which is now restored and holding tours on the second Saturday of each month. Thanks for all you do too, Jean.

Roz,
These are very insightful! I also love the truism (should be another Rozism) "People that don't like cats were probably mice in a previous life."
Hope you have these "Rozism" frequently. I'll try to think of some, too, but I like yours.

I couldn't agree more with No. 3, it seems as if every time I try to do something nice, it comes back to bite me in the butt. I guess that's probably why No. 8 rings true.

Nice list, Roz. Keep up the good job of creating humor in what sometimes seems a humorless world.

Marla,

I don't know who came up with #3. It's one I believe in but didn't invent. It's very sarcastic, but unfortunately true in too many cases.

You do a lot of good deeds for cats and people. I'm sure the cats appreciate them even if some of the people don't. See #8.

Roz, I couldn't agree more with some of those. I'm feeling some of them very acutely lately too.
