I consider Donald Trump a pompous blowhard with bad hair, but he is right about securing our borders from illegal immigration. Where he's wrong, and often is, is only considering the southern border with Central America.
In the first place, not all of the people coming into the USA from Central and South America are Mexican. There are a lot of different countries down there, but The Donald is geographically challenged. Just because someone speaks Spanish and wears a sombrero (which means hat, and I wear one too), doesn't mean he's Mexican. I'm not all that knowledgeable about Central American and South American geography, but I know there's more than one country down there and people come here from most of them some legally, but many not.
Donald doesn't seem to be too concerned about many of the other possible points of entry for undocumented immigrants to sneak into the USA. How about protecting our northern border, that long one with Canada.
Oh I can hear you snickering about protecting us from illegal Canadians. Well don't be too smug. Two of the 911 terrorists came into Maine from Canada, took a commuter flight from Portland to Boston, and hijacked the plane from Boston possibly intending to crash into the White House, but passengers fought back and it crashed in Pennsylvania.
And how about our coastline? How many sailors, passengers, stowaways, jump ship and swim, row, or otherwise find their way onto our shores. Lots of illegals come in from Cuba to Florida, but those are "good" Hispanics, because they are escaping Communist oppression instead of just any other kind of oppression.
This whole business of securing our borders is very difficult, probably impossible. More should be done but just keeping those blankety-blank Mexicans out, even though some "are good people," might appeal to simplistic racists, but Donald Trump should never be President and I'm glad Macy's kicked him out.
