Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

My husband (who turns 60 at the end of May) and I had decided over a year ago that we’d take a trip to celebrate our 60th birthdays. We were going to go to . . . Italy! But somehow we never got around to booking our trip. Then Corona Virus started, but we didn’t realize the impact it would end up having so we booked a week in Hawaii. That’s of course been cancelled.

Now I’m hoping for Dungeness Crab and crusty bread for dinner 🙂 My husband made a lovely breakfast for me. We walked our pup dog. My friends and family are calling and texting for my 60th.

Meanwhile everyone is struggling in different ways. My best friend has cancer. The doctors are in the diagnostic phase so they can create a treatment plan for her. Another friend has hyperthyroid and is really sick with it.

Meanwhile roses are blooming and smell so sweet. The air is fresh with so few cars on the road. The stars are much more visible than I’ve seen them here for years. Colors are bright. I’ve met (with physical distance) so many neighbors that I hadn’t before. Pain and suffering/Beauty and love.

My birthday wish is one I know all of you share. An end soon to this pandemic. Being able to be with our loved ones again in person (I miss my son and his fiance fiercely). For economic recovery. For a healed planet.

I know some (many?) of you are feeling weary of being in shelter. I give thanks for having shelter. Figure out what you can do for one person today to make their day better/brighter.
