Exchange Club Essay Contest Deadline

Uploaded: Apr 16, 2015

This is a reminder to any and all High School students who are interested in American History and would like to win a Scholarship for $500 to $1500, the deadline for submissions for the Exchange Club of the San Ramon Valley Essay Contest is 3:30 pm this Friday, April 17. Yes, that's tomorrow.

If you haven't started your essay yet, or are still in the process of writing one, the video of the presentation on the First Amendment taken by The Exchange Club of the San Ramon Valley is now posted on YouTube. The presentation was given to four high school students to prepare for the Exchange Club's essay contest on the First Amendment. It runs about an hour. You can watch it by clicking on this link here.

Attending the presentation or viewing the video is one of the requirements of the Essay Contest. There isn't much time left to view it, but it is online now. My thanks to Donna Kerger for providing a CD of the March 18, 2015 meeting that I was able to upload to YouTube last night.

Documents in the Freedom Shrine should be used to serve as references as you develop your essay. These documents state our country's founding principles, demonstrate an application of our principles, and relate how citizens in past generations have upheld or paid a price for freedom. Freedom Shrines have been dedicated in the following San Ramon Valley Locations:

California High School
Iron Horse Middle School
Charlotte Wood Middle School
Los Cerros Middle School
Danville Library
Monte Vista High School
Danville Portable Freedom Shrine
St. Isidore School
Diablo Vista Middle School
San Ramon Valley High School
Dougherty Valley High School
Windemere Ranch Middle School
Gale Ranch Middle School

You can read the rules for the contest on the Exchange Club website.
