Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Give your vital information to emergency personnel in advance of an actual emergency with SMART911, a new service of the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District. This will save previous moments when an emergency happens and is especially recommended for those with special medical needs.

“Smart911 can improve the effectiveness of our communication center staff by instantly providing crucial information, allowing us to deliver an enhanced level of service,” said Fire Chief Richard Price. “As an example, SMART911 provides the ability to associate secondary contact information with an address, enabling call takers to contact a sibling if there is an emergency at an elderly parent’s home.”

Calling 911 and communicating effectively during an emergency can be challenging, notes the Fire District. The free SMART911 service lets callers automatically provide current medical and personal information directly to dispatchers.

SMART911 is a private company working in partnership with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District. Subscribers individually decide what information to include in their household profile. The service can be activated via the Internet at www.smart911.com.

Information is secure to protect the privacy of residents and is only provided to dispatchers when the subscriber calls 911. Participation in the SMART911 program is voluntary and optional.
