Blackhawk: Woman killed in possible domestic incident

Contra Costa County sheriff's detectives are conducting a homicide investigation in Blackhawk after a 69-year-old woman was found dead there Sunday afternoon, sheriff's officials said.

The situation unfolded after deputies responded to a suspicious circumstance report on the 4300 block of Quail Run Lane around 4:10 p.m., according to a sheriff's office press release posted online late Sunday night.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found the woman deceased, officials said. Investigators did not release her name nor her cause of death.

The initial investigation indicates the woman knew her killer and the incident may be domestic-related, according to the sheriff's office.

The press release did not specify whether any arrests had been made. Interviews were ongoing in the homicide investigation, as of late Sunday night, according to the sheriff's office.

Anyone with any information about the incident can contact the sheriff's office at 925-646-2441. Tips can be submitted by email to or by phone to 866-846-3592. Tips can remain anonymous, investigators said.
