Town-wide garage sale coming to Danville

60+ individual sales register for Saturday event

Buyers and sellers alike are invited to join the inaugural Danville town-wide garage sale this weekend.

The Saturday event is a joint effort by the town of Danville, Republic Services and RecycleSmart to promote environmental conservation through reuse. It will consist of individual or group sales taking place across Danville, with locations listed in an online registry.

More than 60 individual sales have registered to participate in Saturday's event.

For registered resident sales, a lawn sign will be delivered to their home by sponsoring businesses, though participants are also welcome to advertise online or in newspapers, and with additional street signs as long as they are not in public rights-of-way.

Officials sponsoring the event suggest that buyers start earlier in the day and bring a reusable bag and encourage sellers to donate any leftover items to local thrift stores.
