Arts recreation is going mobile in Danville, as community members can expect to see spontaneous appearances from a Mobile Recreation van at local parks.
The “pop-up” appearances are part of a new program implemented by the town that is intended to bring arts to the park. Activities, which are designed for children ages 5-14, will change depending on park, and all materials will be provided by staff.
The first event will take place on the Danville Town Green this Thursday from 4-6 p.m.
In the future, though, once the program is up and running, the Mobile Recreation’s whereabouts won’t be announced too far in advance — it’s a spontaneous program. Instead, the time and location of the event will be announced shortly beforehand on the town’s Facebook account and Instagram (@DanvilleParksCA).
Residents don’t need to have a Facebook account in order to view the Danville page.
