Symphony awards for music students

Application deadline is Oct. 23

The Livermore-Amador Symphony Association is inviting students who have made significant contributions to school and community musical activities during their high school years to apply for its annual $400 awards.

The awards are based on participation in musical events and not on ability or plans to continue in music programs. The intent is to recognize participation and the desire to provide music to the community.

Applicants must reside or attend school in San Ramon, Livermore, Pleasanton, Sunol or Dublin, or have actively participated as a Livermore-Amador Symphony musician.

The deadline to apply for the 2017-18 season awards is Monday, Oct. 23. Four recipients will be selected and presented with an award at the Livermore-Amador Symphony concert Dec. 2.

The application and additional information are at livermoreamadorsymphony.org/awards.
