Application deadline approaching for San Ramon committee seats

Teen Council, Architectural Review Board among groups with openings

The City of San Ramon is now accepting applications for a handful of positions in different leadership groups, all due within the next few weeks.

The positions that will soon be open include spots on the city's Architectural Review Board, the Arts Advisory Committee, the Library Advisory Committee, the Senior Advisory Committee and the Teen Council.

Applications are available online. All committees and the board have two-year terms, with an unlimited term limit. Teen Council appointments are for one year, also with an unlimited number of terms as the limit.

Applicants for all positions must be San Ramon residents.

Architectural Review Board - Three positions on the board will be open on March 1, for two official members and one alternate. One of the member positions requires a licensed architect, and the other a licensed architect or engineer. Applicants for the alternate position should be a licensed architect or engineer.

Applications for the ARB are due by Feb. 16 at 5 p.m.

Arts Advisory Committee - Four spots on the Arts Advisory Committee will be available starting April 1, for three committee members and one alternate.

Applications are due by Feb. 21 at 5 p.m.

Library Advisory Committee - The Library Advisory Committee is looking for three new members, two committee members and one alternate. One committee member spot and the alternate position are available starting April 1, while the other committee member spot has been open since December.

Applications are due by Feb. 21 at 5 p.m.

Senior Advisory Committee - Applications for four posts are now being accepted, for three committee member positions and one alternate. Two committee member spots will be open on April 1, the other has been available since August, and the alternate post since June. Applicants must be at least 55 years old.

Applications are due by Feb. 21 at 5 p.m.

Teen Council - The Teen Council is a group of 17 teens appointed by the City Council who advocate for teen issues and serve as a liaison between teens and governmental and private organizations. Terms begin July 1 and expire at the end of June.

Applications are due by Feb. 22 at 5 p.m.

On a county level, the Contra Costa County Library Commission is seeking applicants for an open alternate post. The application period will remain open until the post is filled.
