Danville set to continue skate park discussion

Consultants to present findings from feasibility study at Wednesday meeting

Discussions on the prospective Danville skate park are set to continue Wednesday night at the Parks and Leisure Services Commission meeting.

At the meeting, commission-hired Spohn Ranch Consulting will present the findings of their initial skate park feasibility study, which includes the feedback received at a recent workshop where residents shared what amenities a skate park facility should offer.

The commissioners previously chose Sycamore Valley Park as the preferred location for the potential skate park.

The skate park is still in the "theoretical phase, with no design or budget in place," said Henry Perezalonso, director of the Recreation, Arts and Community Services Department.

"We received feedback from residents that this was something they wanted to see in Danville, so we are looking to see if it is even possible," Perezalonso said. "If the commission chooses to move forward, there is still a lot to do."

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front St.
