San Ramon’s own dance troupe, Jumpin’ at the Sun, is returning to the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center this weekend for their spring performances.

The Diablo Magazine best dance troupe of 2016 will perform their spring season on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.

Incorporating the styles of contemporary, jazz, modern and ballet, Jumpin’ at the Sun wants to showcase the diverse talent set its dancers poses. It is even hinted that the finale has a fun circus vibe

“Audiences can expect a fun, high energy contemporary dance performance for the whole family,” co-artistic director Lindsey Saravia Neville said. Jumpin’ at the Sun was created by the mother daughter team of co-artistic directors Debbie Saravia and Lindsey Saravia Neville.

San Ramon’s first and only resident professional dance company, Jumpin’ at the Sun wants to offer their community an opportunity to see local dance performances in a casual, comfortable and welcoming environment. Destigmatizing the concept that dance can not be casual and fun.

“You no longer need to cross a bridge or go through a tunnel or even leave your city to access professional dance in the Bay Area,” a Jumpin’ at the Sun spokesperson said.

Their weekend shows are their only scheduled performances for the spring season, if fans miss out they may have to wait until Jumpin’ at the Sun returns for their fall performances in September, dates to be announced.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $17 for seniors, and guests with a student ID can buy one get one free. Jumpin’ at the Sun also offers adult mixed level dance classes every week.
