In order to guide the city’s efforts to create a more prosperous parks system, San Ramon’s Parks and Community Services Department is creating a Parks, Trails, Open Space and Recreation Master Plan, and has launched a public survey asking residents what the plans priorities should be.

The online survey — which will remain open throughout December — takes approximately 10- 15 minutes to complete and asks residents to identify the parks facilities and activities that they find most valuable and what ones they would like to see the city add or improve upon.

The master plan itself will be used to help guide the city in how it will meet the recreational needs of residents over the next decade. Specifically it will set priority areas for how the city will develop parks services, such as trail maintenance, sports field expansion and community activities such as classes and cultural events.

Eventually city staff hope the plan will build upon the city’s existing Bicycle Master Plan, to encourage biking and walking throughout San Ramon.

After the survey is concluded, residents and city staff will begin creating a draft of the plan with data collected from community input.

Interested residents are encouraged to participate in the online survey via the city’s website.
