Volunteers are being sought to serve as census ambassadors to help with Contra Costa County’s Census 2020 Count Steering Committee.

The county Board of Supervisors created the committee last month to help ensure a complete and accurate count of the community during the upcoming census.

Members of the committee should represent the diversity of the county, especially hard-to-count populations such as immigrants, households living in poverty, veterans and households with limited English proficiency, according to county spokeswoman Susan Shiu.

Volunteers should be able to commit to five to 10 hours per month and regularly attend committee meetings monthly in the afternoon.

Applications can be found by calling 335-1900 or visiting the county’s web page at https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/3418.

Applications should be sent to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Room 106, County Administration Building, 651 Pine St., Martinez, CA 94553, by close of business at 5 p.m. on Jan. 23.

Applications may also be emailed to ClerkoftheBoard@cob.cccounty.us.
