Crawford golf tourney benefits Piscotty ALS fund

Pleasanton natives Brandon Crawford (Giants) and Stephen Piscotty (A's) are getting ready to report to MLB spring training in Arizona, and though they play on rival pro teams, their families are joining together for a good cause.

The third annual Crawford Family Invitational Golf Tournament is set for Feb. 22 at Raven Golf Club in Phoenix.

This year, net proceeds will benefit ALS CURE, a nonprofit special project fund of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, established by Stephen's father Mike Piscotty to support breakthroughs in ALS treatment and the search for a cure. Stephen's mother, Gretchen Piscotty, died last spring after battling ALS.

The families want people in their hometown to know that spots to play in the golf tournament and sponsorship opportunities are still available but going fast. Learn more at
