Alamo Women’s Club to host jewelry liquidation sale fundraiser

All proceeds to benefit group's scholarship fund for low-income students

The Alamo Women’s Club is set to hold a jewelry liquidation sale at the Creekside Community Church, with all proceeds being donated to the organization's AWC Scholarship Fund.

A wide assortment of both costume and fine jewelry will be available for sale during the fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, with prices ranging from $50 to $250. Most jewelry was donated from club members and Alamo and Rossmoor residents in order to support the scholarship fund.

The AWC Scholarship Fund was established over 20 years ago and is used to support foster youth and other low income Bay Area students attending college.

A needs-based scholarship program, the fund sees AWC members visit regional schools and organizations every January in order to visit applicants and gauge community need. AWC officials state that the program typically focuses on local public high school graduating seniors, Diablo Valley Community College single parents and youth homes with emancipated foster students.

Residents interested in additional information on the scholarship fund are encouraged to contact AWC scholarship chair Judy Tura at judy.tura@comcast.net.

The AWC’s jewelry liquidation sale is scheduled for Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Creekside Community Church, 1350 Danville Blvd. in Alamo.
