Alamo: Motorcycle officer suffers minor injuries in crash

CHP veteran's motorcycle struck while pulling over vehicle on I-680

A 22-year veteran California Highway Patrol officer suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning when his motorcycle collided with a car he was pulling over in Alamo, the CHP said.

Officer Tom Maguire was injured when his motorcycle struck a black Jaguar sedan at about 8 a.m. Wednesday on southbound Interstate 680 near the Livorna Road interchange, CHP Officer Brandon Correia said. Both the Jaguar and the motorcycle were moving toward the right shoulder when the collision occurred, he said.

Maguire was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. Correia said he isn't sure when Maguire will return to work.

The Jaguar driver was not injured, and no other vehicles were involved, Correia said.
