The San Ramon Police Department and San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District will host an active shooter response drill from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at California High School this Tuesday (July 30), with San Ramon Valley Fire Dispatch and Central County SWAT participating as well.

The training, which has been on the schedule for weeks, is for law enforcement and first responders only. The purpose of the event is to allow the agencies to work together in preparing, preventing and responding to emergency situations in a realistic but safe environment, police said in a statement.

Fire and police vehicles and personnel will be on campus throughout the duration of the training and signs will be posted along Broadmoor Drive to inform neighboring areas and traffic during the drill, according to officials.
