San Ramon: City Center set to host final summertime block party

Saturday event to feature a collection of sales, bites and fun activities

City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon is giving residents one last chance to have some summer fun with its final "Summertime SHOP!" Community Block Party of the season this Saturday (Aug. 31).

The City Center Community Block Party is a monthly series put on by shopping complex in order to encourage residents to explore the center and enjoy a variety of special events, food items and deals that will be offered by select retailers

For the last Block Party of the summer, attendees will be serenaded with the sounds of the Bay Area’s own blues rock band Radiokeys. A band that City Center spokesperson Annie Noebel describes says: “Their songs and sound flirt with traditional sounds, yet create a unique, jagged form of blues and folk.”

People who find their way to City Center’s second level will have the opportunity to express themselves with water color at the postcard making craft station led by local artist Peggy Wynne Borgman.

A variety of special deals will be offered throughout the day, and shoppers who spend $200 or more in one or a combination of City Center stores and restaurants will have the opportunity to receive a $25 gift card from one of City Center Bishop Ranch’s new stores, including Sephora, Social Affair, Anthropologie, The Slanted Door and Williams Sonoma.

A full list of participating City Center retailers with their special in-store promotions, games, snacks and events are available at www.citycenterbishopranch.com.

City Center’s Community Block Party is free to attend and set to occur on Saturday (Aug. 31) from 4-6 p.m. in Alexander Square, 6000 Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon.
