Danville: Pedestrian injured after being hit by car on Camino Tassajara

A pedestrian sustained major injuries after being struck by a car at the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Alta Vista Way/Wood Ranch Road in Danville on Friday morning, according to police.

Danville Police Chief Allan Shields said officers responded to the collision at approximately 9:11 a.m., and that based off of initial evidence it appears the driver of the vehicle was attempting to turn left from Alta Vista Way onto eastbound Camino Tassajara when they struck the pedestrian.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with police, according to investigators, who stated that while the incident is still under investigation drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.

No information was immediately available on the condition of the pedestrian, who police say is a resident of Danville.
