The Eugene O'Neill Foundation is hosting a "Nature Walk beyond the Tao House" at the national park site that was the former home of the famed playwright, aimed at providing visitors a glimpse of the wilderness surrounding the Tao House.

Local naturalist Sandi Hunt is set to lead the tour of the grounds and provide introductions to several of the native plants and trees housed in the neighboring Las Trampas Regional Wilderness.

Participants can access the site via a free shuttle leaving the Museum of the San Ramon Valley at 10 a.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 20) and returning at noon. The event is free and open to all.

BART history at the museum

The Museum of the San Ramon Valley's next virtual program is set to focus on the history and evolution of the BART system, featuring guest speaker Mike Healy, a retired longtime spokesperson for the transit agency.

"This virtual program promises to captivate audiences as it explores the rich history, current advancements, and future of one of the Bay Area's most iconic transportation systems," organizers said in the event description.

The event comes shortly after the 51st anniversary of the key Bay Area transit system -- which was established on Sept. 11, 1972 -- next Thursday (Sept. 21) at 11:30 a.m. More information and registration is available at museumsrv.org.
