Scores of participants across 25 teams and more than 200 volunteers supported the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Tri-Valley on June 22-23 at Granada High School in Livermore, helping raise over $100,000 in the process.
The 24-hour event — featuring supporters from Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon and Danville — is held round the clock to recognize that cancer never takes a break and neither can the fight against it.
“It was inspirational to see people from all parts of our community come out to support us and help save lives from cancer,” local resident Martel Marshall said. “Together, we celebrated those surviving cancer, remembered loved ones lost, and took tangible action to make a difference.”
Funds raised help provide free information and support for people facing the disease today and fund cancer research to protect future generations.
