It’s crab season and in the San Ramon Valley that means multiple opportunities for residents to come together and chow down on some crustaceans while supporting charitable causes at various crab feeds throughout the region.

The San Ramon Historic Foundation, Kiwanis Club of the San Ramon Valley and the Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley will all be hosting crab feeds in Danville and San Ramon over the next several months, where residents are invited to come together and support their local charitable organizations.

On Jan. 24 the San Ramon Historic Foundation will host the first feed, which will also include pasta, salad, french bread, coffee, tea and an auction for special desserts and a silent auction. An annual event that raises funds to help support the preservation of San Ramon’s historic farms and homesteads, this year’s funds will benefit the restoration of Forest Home Farms.

This year’s feed will be held at San Ramon’s Dougherty Station Community Center, 17011 Bollinger Canyon Road, on Jan. 24 from 6-9 p.m., with dinner set to start at 7 p.m. Organizers also want residents to know that this year’s event will be held on a Friday. Tickets cost $55 and can be purchased online at www.srhf.org.

Next up, the Kiwanis Club of the San Ramon Valley will be holding its annual crab feed on Jan. 31, and is welcoming not only fellow Kiwanians and their families, but also the public at large. Set to be held at the Danville Grange Hall, 743 Diablo Road. Drinks — available at a cash bar — and a raffle will be available at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

The Kiwanis Club of the San Ramon Valley’s annual crab feed costs $50 for adults and $25 for kids 10-17, kids 10 years old and younger can enter for free. Tickets are available online at www.srvkiwanis.org.

Not to be left out the Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley is rounding the list of 2020 crab feeds, and will be hosting their own event on Feb. 2. In addition to fresh crab, the feed will also include a silent auction and door prizes, and will support services for local veterans.
