Gladys Murray passed away at Sunol Creek Memory Care in Pleasanton on Apr. 16, 2020, at the age of 88. She was born and raised in Pleasanton.
She was the 11th and last child of Manuel and Mary Cardoza. Gladys attended Amador High School where she met the love of her life, Mert Murray, who predeceased her in 2009. They were happily married for 57 years and resided in Pleasanton and their second home in Penn Valley's Lake Wildwood.
Gladys became an avid tennis player at Tennis Town and enjoyed watching tennis on TV and in person. She especially loved spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining and having family gatherings.
Gladys was the school secretary for Camp Parks and Fairlands Schools. Later on, she became a travel agent and loved setting up trips for many friends and family. She loved traveling, going on cruises and was especially fond of her trip with Mert to the Azores in Portugal.
She is survived by her daughter Lori Fraser and husband Bruce; her son Kevin; her niece Susan Ferrari and husband Roger; and many nieces, nephews, and numerous loving friends. She was predeceased in 1969 by her beloved daughter Leslie.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
