John Jacob Guydish, Jr. passed away on his 93rd birthday from a bout of pneumonia. He had his family at his bedside for days preceding his passing. He is survived by his three children, David, Jayne & Jack, his four grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Andrew & Austin and his sister, Dolores Buggy. His two daughter-in-laws, Debbie and Stacy were also at his bedside during his illness. John was born in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania to John Sr. and Pauline Guydish who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Marie Guydish (Sebia), and his brother, Tom Guydish. A service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 15 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Pleasanton, Ca. As a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, a military service will also be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, a veteran's cemetery in Dixon, CA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or Wounded Warriors in memory of John J. Guydish, Jr.
