I was a Job's Daughter when I was a teenager. I cannot tell you how much this organization helped me throughout life. I am now the CFO of a corporation in town and refer often to the things I learned in Job's. Glad to hear that you're still around. I wish you the best of luck!!

This organization started my development as a leader by improving my skills in public speaking, project management, and time management as a young teen. The various leadership offices that I have held taught me how to build relationships with my peers, plan events, and keep track of finances. I have helped plan and execute successful philanthropic projects to give back to our community.

Recently my store had a School fundraiser night to help raise money for local elementary schools. Being a Job's Daughter I sure know how to raise money. In preperation for the big night I created a Poster board to promote the event. Having put together several scrapbooks I have excellent scrapbooking skills to be able to throw together a poster board. Every week our management team gets together and has a weekly meeting. Being a Past Honored Queen I know from experience how to run a meeting. Don't get me started about how to plan. Wether it be a calendar, reservations, ongoing meetings, upcoming events, I am always the one chosen to be the one in charge of the organizing events. Another great way that Job's Daughters has helped me in my career is treating everyone with love and respect whether it be my employees, customers, vendors, or other managers. Job's Daughters not only provided me an excellent atmosphere to create and develop many useful skills it also has taught me the importance of being a friend, being an active member in the community, and having faith in god. Job's Daughters helps build good character and promotes lasting friendships, respect for people, being a positive role model, faith in god, and a member of the community. Through our lessons we learn to take life as it comes and there will be good times and bad, but if we continue to have faith we will be able to overcome misfortunes and be blessed. I feel very blessed that I have carried the lessons of Job's Daughters throughout my life and use many of the skills learned still in everyday situations. Not to mention the countless friends that I have made over the years that I am still very close with today. My best friend now I met at my first perspective members party when I was 10 years old, 16 years later we are both managers at the same restaurant chain and are able to share many memories of times we have spent over the years.

Joining Job's was one of the best decisions of my life. You don't realize it when you are 13 but this organization inspires and teaches you to be a better person later in life. Because of Job's I gained the confidence to speak to a large crowd, organize events, be responsible for a budget, and be taught how to network with people I met along the way. The networking aspect and being able to speak in a large crowd was key for me since I was a shy person at the age of 13. It was these lessons that helped me be successful with my business fraternity executive board & network within the business community at college. Job's helped me create a foundation to build on, which I am still building on (since we never stop learning) but I have confidence in everything I do, because I know my foundation is solid. Whether it is managing a $3M media budget at work or managing and supporting my own life, Job's helped me build my foundation.

Along with preparation for college and the life after, through Job's I met people who I still to this day consider an extended part of my family and through think and thin we are there for each other. There are times we don't talk for years at a time, but we pick up right where we left off when we do chat. And when there is tragedy, we know exactly who to reach out to for support. You can't get this within any other organization I have ever been apart of.

What a Girl needs... A place to belong

The structure of Job¢s Daughters provides a safe place for our members to explore and develop their sense of self. Opportunities to participate or lead different events abound and each member is encouraged to choose her own path in a supportive environment.

I can't begin to express what impact being a Job's Daughter had on my life. The shy kid that ran out of class rather than give an oral report, now can speak in front of a large group (although still not totally comfortable, no one realizes it!) I've made friendships that have lasted for years and continue to make new friends from all around the country through the organization as an adult. My own daughter has also been a member and "ages" out in less than 2 months. She takes with her friendships, skills to last a lifetime and several scholarships to help her pay for her remaining 2 years of college. I volunteer for the organization as an adult to "pay back" for the experiences as a young lady. I encourage anyone with a female relative between 10 and 20 to look at the Organization and see what we have to offer !
