Scorpions come out on top

The Danville Scorpion 8A lacrosse team finished the regular season undefeated and ranked No. 1 going into the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association Final Four Championship held June 1 at San Jose's Spartan Stadium. The Scorpions defeated the Town School Tigers 15 to 5 in first round playoffs on May 18 at Lamorinda/OIS. Playing the Lamorinda Shock in the semifinal match, a determined Scorpion team came out fast with three goals in the first quarter defeating the Shock 12-5. Kevin Kuptz scored four goals with Jack McCormick, Michael Tagliaferri and Zack Kline contributing two goals each. Sean O'Dea, playing long pole midfield, scored one goal and picked up four ground balls.
