It disgusts me the increasing numbers of reports of people preying upon others and their property. What's wrong with people?! Many are struggling, but resorting to theft and violence? There is no excuse.

I just can't believe there are still people out there who haven't been taught by their elders to respect and honor the greatest thing America ever invented, private property. It's probably foreigners an illegal extremists who did this, a suttle way to try and break down our Country is my guess, or youths raised by limp-wristed liberal types. Well, just try it, punks. Wow, I'm sure President Obama had something to do with this robbery in Alamo. Lord knows nothing bad ever happened around here until he became President. Seriously, Dick P., you need some anger management counseling. I'm almost as afraid of you, as I am of an armed robber. How could you possibly believe terrorists are behind this plot to destroy our community, not stupid, everyday lowlife criminals?

Listen up, you people are missing the point. What America and Alamo needs right now is values, including the right to bear arms against these radicals who infiltrate our town to hurt our families and traditions. The perpetrator was identified in a Contra Costa Times story as a 50-year-old Alamo resident. Of course, that was the initial report. More info may come out - but there's video of a middle-aged white fella being loaded into an ambulance while a reporter identifies the patient as the 'suspect.'

Yep Dick P, that gun thing sure worked out well. Instead of the owner losing some property for which he was likely insured, he ended up going to he hospital with a hole in him because he pulled a gun. I have no problem with guns, but to think they are a panacea for societies ills is delusional.

Alamoan - If the "suspect" had known he would be facing a gun, do you think he would have followed through on his attempt? Just asking...

Who knows. Maybe, maybe not. No one other than the suspect can say for sure.

People sometimes look at me like I'm nuts, but stuff like this is exactly the reason I carry a gun at all times. It IS legal in California. It's called Open Carrying and if everyone here in the Greater Danville area did it, we could be sure that pesky overgrown hooligans like this guy, and also the ones Dick P is warning about, wouldn't give us trouble. Wow -- ties have been made between this local incident and illegal's, gun control and Obama. NO this was a robbery like many that happen all over bay area and though specifics may vary this is not unique to Alamo. Get over it -- it is most important that no lives were lost.

Some people can't be trusted to count to 10 before ramming their car into someone they perceive took their rightful place in a line of cars. What would happen if these same folks had "huge guns" at the ready? You are within your rights to carry one, but let's hope you have the judgment not to employ one unless seriously threatened, and that others who are "judgment challenged" (shall we say?) don't decide to follow suit.
