The volume of comments on the BANG editorial this morning disclosing the nepotism of the Piepho's in protecting their role in Contra Costa LAFCO was celebrated with a great deal of humor among CCC District III neighborhoods. It is hard to imagine anyone claiming that CCLAFCO is a State Agency when CCC-BOS can manipulate who is a member without State review or consent.
Certainly, Assembly Member Buchanan needs to make public review of any process that results in Mary being able to designate her husband's role in a State organization. Such potential conflicts of interest are of district-wide interest and require a State response.
Neighbors do not see it as far-fetched that CCC-MAC policy could be amended to have David Piepho keep an eye on Alamo via participating in the CCC-MAC Alamo.
Is anyone laughing?
