Tri-Valley Babe Ruth 13YO All-Stars Split, Play Must Win Tonight

Last night, the Tri-Valley Babe Ruth 13 year-old all-star team lost an epic hard-fought 3:42 battle, 22-15 to Central California in the Pacific Southwest Regional tournament is Surprise, Arizona.  With the temperature at 106' at game time, TVBR trailed 9-0 after 1 1/2 and bounced back with 8 in the lower half.  However, Central Cal was relentless, never coughing up the lead with 20 hits.  TVBR had their chances, trailing 17-13 after 4, when they held Central scoreless with a 1-2-3 5th.  Central shut down TVBR and scored the knockout with 4 in the 6th.  TVBR banged out 12 hits with 3 RBIs from Jack Maloon and 2 RBIs from Darroch Koel, Jack Morgan, Saiki Roy, James Cowick and Dante Albanese. 

In the 9:50PM loser's bracket game, TVBR bounced back against Nevada with a 15-0 win.  TVBR banged out 13 hits led by Jack Maloon, Jared Dawson, Nate White, Ryan Bowman and Jack Fryer with 2 each. Fryer added 4 RBIs.  Bowman and Clark Eder shared pitching duties.  TVBR plays Hawaii today at 5:30PM in a must-win game.  The winner of the TVBR-Hawaii game will play the loser of the game between Central California and Southern California.  Today's winners advance to the championship game tomorrow in Surprise Stadium at 4:00PM.
