Incumbents thrive in local races on Election Night

Original post made on Nov 5, 2014

Incumbent success was the theme for the Danville Town Council and San Ramon Valley school board races, according to unofficial election results released just after midnight Wednesday by Contra Costa County election officials.

Only 14,516 votes cast for the Danville Town Council! Such low voter turnout. Shameful! Now we continue to be stuck with these incumbent knuckleheads.

MiSFit- Clearly if more people voted, more people would have voted for the incumbents, Robert Storer and Karen Stepper. They are, without question, better suited for the positions. The OTHER candidate did not stand a chance. He had a talking dog as his campaign manager. Please.

I am very pleased to see the results in Danville...I am also very pleased I do not live in the Town of Danville. You naive people deserve the you get.

I am in total agreement with miSFit what ever that means.

And I think Content in Danville is a plant.

One thing that keeps me smiling is the fact that we sane Americans put Obama in his place and most of all put the good guys in control.

California is so BLUE it going down hill fast. Just like New York. Just look at Danville...One word says it all about the people "CONTENT"...A simple word with strong meanings.

Again, I am happy for you folks in Danville..

Thanks for listening, but I don't really care, Julia Pardini from sane Alamo

Julia- is there any chance we could convince you to relocate to Danville and be on our Town Council? You always make so much sense, your thoughts are contagious and people absolutely love your input. Your "I don't care" style at the end of each of your 100 comments per hour is remarkable. I'm sure there are plenty of bloggers who would volunteer to serve as your campaign manager.

I'm at least somewhat concerned by the election of Donald Parker and Chris Campbell to the SRV FPD board. If I'm not mistaken, one is a current fireman, and the other is a retired fireman. On the surface, one might think, "Who better to run a fire department, than an experienced fireman?". However, the problem arises during contract negotiations, when it makes no sense to have union guys negotiating with the union. Unfortunately, the union also had more money to throw behind getting their guys elected.

Maybe Parker and Campbell will rise to the challenge of negotiating on behalf of taxpayers, rather than the union. But I am not hopeful. It will be interesting to watch as they try to balance the cost of salaries, pensions, and benefits, versus the number of firefighters on roll....

CR Curmudgeon- trust your first responders- they know what is best for their department. It makes sense that they voted in one of their own, they know the hard work it takes to have a fire career & our valley benefits from this wonderful department.

Sadly it does not appear the Bat$#!+ Express train missed any stops - not locally, regionally, or nationally. Joni Ernst, the woman who makes Michelle Bachmann look downright sane? Are they putting acid in the Iowa drinking water?
Comedians in Europe and elsewhere will have no shortage of fodder for the next few years.

I mixed up the School District and the Fire District and voted for two on the School District (No problem with that), but three on the FD, so my vote was rejected. Two of my three were the guys who won, so no harm done.

Julia,

Alamo is run by the County Supervisors, so you shouldn't be so smug. A source who communicates with me via email says there's a lot of dissatisfaction with the Sups, including Candace Andersen. Just because she didn't vote herself a raise, doesn't mean she's cares about her constituents.

If anyone from San Ramon, Dave Hudson? Phil O'Loane? is interested in running for County Supervisor, you might have a good shot at it in the next election.

It would be an outright disaster if D. Hudson became a county supervisor based on his performance & total lack of empathy for residents of San Ramon.

Julia,
I have never, until today, responded to your ignorant comments because I feel sorry for you. Since you threw me into the mix of your ridiculousness, I will respond even though "you don't care".
For you to make an assumption that I am a "plant" is absurd. You can see by the votes, so many of the Danville residents are happy with the Councilmembers,(Mayor Robert Storer and Karen Stepper) and for good reason.
Why is it that you find it so difficult to believe that residents are CONTENT(definition: satisfied; satisfaction)?
My thought is that it is because you are a miserable person who never has anything positive to say. There is help out there. It's not too late.

Gee! I think it is wonderful that we keep our incumbents in office, because we are in the Danville Bubble. Nothing outside Danville affects us, so if all the world around us is falling apart, we don't have to worry. 53 years in Danville and retired for 30. It's nice to not worry about anything else in the world.

@Content - I stand by what I wrote. Danville is going down the drain with rest of CA. I wish there is a way Alamo could become a state by itself and be cut-off from all the insanity.

Thanks for listening.

Julia,
Stand by whatever you want. The fact of the matter is Alamo IS in California. It will never be a state of its own (you're delusional) Maybe there is another town LIKE Alamo you can move to in another state. Problem solved for you and all of the "sane" Alamo and Damville residents.
Thanks for listening.

A couple of typos on last comment. DANVILLE Definitely not Damville and I'm content. Not Comtent.
Eyes are tired. It's been a long, wonderful day.

I think that the council is doing a good job and I hope the incumbents run next time too.
