How did they get away so fast and how did they get so close to the victim? They may have been waiting to rob the home. They had to get back on the freeway or take a back road to get away. The police were probably notified and somehow the robbers got away. There was another robbery in Danville and the perpetrators got away in a car also. Sounds like same robbers, or the word has gotten out that Danville is easy target.
Clearly they targeted this neighborhood.
The vehicle they drove had paper license plates and may have been stolen or they used the paper to cover up the real plate number. These guys knew what they were doing!

Riff Raff treat Danville like an ATM. They drive in, get their loot, then hop on the freeway.

Then they tell their friends that Danville’s easy pickings. Next thing you know, Riff Raff are everywhere.

Democrats are letting all the so-called non-violent offenders out of prison, so we might see a spike in crimes like this.

A few years ago, a group of Riff Raff tried robbing a San Ramon jewelry store and the store owner pulled out a gun and capped one of them. They didn’t come back. That’s one way to stop them, but no one wants Danville to become a firing range.

We’ve tried paying Danville cops on the cheap, but the good ones find better jobs elsewhere. Maybe it’s time to rethink that.

Also, if you see someone that looks like Riff Raff, be on guard. Obviously, since we’re surrounded by PC types, you’ve got to give lip service to inclusivity and such, but watch your back.

Poor glates, such a fear-morongering Trump-wannabe. You can't get from the 100 block of Alamo Springs Drive to the freeway without going past houses, down a long hill, under the freeway, past Hap Magee public park, left onto La Gonda, over the speed bumps, through a stop sign, and over a hill to El Pintado -- if you're going north -- or another half mile through two traffic lights if you're going south.

That's SOME hop.

As saner voices have pointed out, local crime rates are way down. Please take your perverse entertainments somewhere else.

We had a strong armed robbery here in San Ramon about 15 years ago. It turned out to be the teenage girls from one of the local group homes. Perhaps Danville police need to check the group homes.

It’s a 4 minute drive, smart guy. 1.3 miles. I just checked on Google Maps.

If you’ve tracked the Danville Police Logs like I have you’ll see that criminals hit hardest in the communities near the 580 & 680 freeways.

Why are you busting my chops? I’m just trying to help.

Yes, national crime rates have come WAY down, particularly in the cities where the population is becoming gentrified. But that’s masked a huge crime spike in the suburbs.

Suburban crime is way up since the feds tore down city public housing and started handing out Section 8 vouchers like candy. Riff Raff moved to the suburbs and the crime followed. Violent crime in places like Antioch is 50% higher today than it was 10 years ago. Web Link

Danville’s violent crime rate hasn’t changed much in the past 10 years, thankfully. Riff Raff don’t live here -- yet. But they’ll drive in and rob you.

Glates:

"Why are you busting my chops? I'm just trying to help. " Rubbish. In your few candid moments you admit to using this forum as your rhetorical playground. You are too often quite wrong, and otherwise disingenuous -- bending stats for misleading apparent effect. Case in point:

"Danville's violent crime rate hasn't changed much in the past 10 years, thankfully." Nonsense.

Look at several violent and property crime rates, comparing 2001 vs. 2013

Robberies: 11.8 to 4.6
Assaults: 82.4 to 27.6
Burglaries: 331.8 to 216.5
Thefts: 967.3 to 670.3.

It doesn't even matter what your definition of "is" is, every one of those rates is down -- Way Down. Web Link

I said Danville’s crime rate hasn’t changed much in the past 10 years. And it’s true. We had a low crime rate back then and it’s still low. The numbers have spiked a bit recently, higher than what you posted, but still low. Web Link

Hopefully it will stay low.

Watch out for Riff Raff.

Less than half the robberies and less than 1/3 the assaults ... that's no change to you? You clearly inhabit an alternate universe where anything you say is true -- because you said it. Then when you're called-out on it you double-down -- guessing you are a Republican.

You want riff-raff out of Danville -- I'd settle for kicking it out of the Town Square. It is as it does, Raffy.

What a nit picker.

I said Danville crime was low. I never said anything about the trajectory.

You’re like the person who misses the point, but thinks he’s smart because he catches someone using the word its instead of it’s.

Isn’t there a lake someplace you can go jump in?

glates 11/21: "I said Danville crime was low. I never said anything about the trajectory." Never, except in the very same thread:

glates, 11/19: "Danville's violent crime rate hasn't changed much in the past 10 years, thankfully."

glates, 11/21: "Isn't there a lake someplace you can go jump in?"

No, but there is your grill, and I'm all up in it, raffy.

Yes, yes, Danville crime rate is lower today than it was 10 years ago. I don’t disagree.

I said I was thankful it was about the same, meaning that it’s always been low, there hasn’t been a crime spike. You noted that it’s not the same, it’s lower. I agree.

Congratulations, sonny boy. You won an argument I never made.

Why yes, glates. Some might say it's SO insignificant that it's a ridiculous waste of time to fear-monger about it.

Pops.

I’ll bet that guy who got robbed at gunpoint doesn’t think crime’s insignificant.

Riff Raff don’t live here, so it’s easy to let your guard down. But they can still drive in.

Reminding folks about that ain’t fearmongering, son.

Yeah -- you and State Farm (the guy's first call), just being neighborly. The first thing any fear monger does, is to try to put the mark in a victim's shoes, and then create some great unwashed "others" that he can demonize.

It's an old and tiresome riff, raffy.

"Riff raff," "so-called non-violent offenders," Section 8 voucher recipients generalized as "riff raff," former residents of public housing as "riff raff," non-residents of precious Danville as dangerous and menacing, so watch your back(!).

And on-and-on. But you don't demonize.

You are the dog whistler for every low racist instinct that lurks among the local population. Your writings are divisive and ugly, and your "who, me?" protestations are transparently deceitful. You know exactly what you're doing -- it's hateful, elitist and ultimately Un-American.

All criminals ARE riff raff, non-violent or not.

Criminals have used Section 8 to move to places like Antioch and their crime rates have exploded. That’s not hate. That’s a fact.

It ain’t racist neither. Most Section 8 people are white.

Danville IS precious. It’s full of mostly law abiding citizens who generally don’t rob people. I like that. Disliking criminals doesn’t make me elitist or un-American. It makes me sane.

I get that you actually believe some of what you write. That's part of what makes it so odious.

Let me know if you need any help getting down.

If I need any help, I will request it from riff-raff -- maybe my sister-in-law, who gets Section 8 assistance and is as honest a person as you'll ever meet. She does her best, even if that doesn't serve your glib narrative.

Oh yeah, could you do us a favor? If your sister-in-law has a new Rolex, could you let us know?

Nice talking with you. Take care.

So, you're down to free-form attacks on individual good people you don't know?

Okay, here's one about someone we all know through his writings: the Rolex is right in front of your eyes -- if only there was better light inside your colon. How it got there, well, that can remain your little secret.

LOL nothing like a bit of civil discourse to start the day.

I wish they'd stop recycling old news to skew the crime stats...I mean it is 2015 so who still wears a watch?

Condolences to the watch owner but at least he was robbed by high class Riff Raff....they had access to a car!

Happy Thanksgiving to all, from the McMansions on down to the section 8 housing.

As above, it's enough for me that Riff Raff liked it.

Over/out.
