The Danville Town Council is set to meet with town commissioners Monday afternoon as part of an annual workshop during which the local leaders discuss key topics relevant to the town government.

In addition to the council, the special meeting will feature members of Danville’s Planning Commission, Design Review Board, Heritage Resource Commission, Arts Commission, and Parks and Leisure Services Commission.

The workshop will begin with opening remarks by Mayor Renee Morgan, followed by an original poem by Elaine Betts, Danville’s poet laureate.

The group will then receive brief updates on town service areas, including police, downtown zoning and parking, the Parks, Recreation and Arts Strategic Plan, and communications and outreach.

The council members and commissioners will next hold a group exercise and discussion about the town’s Community Branding and Marketing Plan.

The formal meeting will end with time for additional questions and comments, after which the group will head over to a social and dinner at Danville Farmer’s Almanac, 500 Hartz Ave.

The workshop itself, open to the public, will start at 3 p.m. at the Town Meeting Hall at 201 Front St. in downtown Danville. For more information, read the workshop overview.
