San Ramon officials have posted a new online survey seeking feedback from residents about garbage, recycling and composting service in the city, with the current contract with Waste Management set to expire in 2019.

The city wants to know what residents think about the quality of the services provided by Waste Management as officials decide whether to negotiate a contract extension with the waste-collection company or conduct a competitive bid process for a new service provider.

The “Recycle 2020: Rate San Ramon’s Garbage and Recycling Program” survey will remain active online until 5 p.m. Friday, April 21.

The questions fall into two categories:

– Service design (responsibilities of the city), including types of services offered, materials accepted for recycling, number of neighborhood pickup days and more.

– Service delivery (responsibilities of Waste Management), including number of missed pickups, customer service representatives’ effectiveness and politeness, billing accuracy, timely response to complaints and more.
