I am shocked at how many people still leave their doors unlocked, windows open and answer doors when strangers knock. It is no wonder we are seeing more of this kind of activity with "people behaving badly".
Pleas..... be pro active and help keep our community safe by using common sense and good safety techniques!!

I am shocked that the good people of california passes a law that puts a target on their own property. We voted for more crime and we now have it.
Thank you Gov Brown and the one party state that is california.

We need to reverse Prop 57. How can that be done?

Easy,vote OUT the democratic super-majority. Then,pass a bill nullifying Prop 57.

It's not like prop 57 barely passed. It ended up passing with 64.4% of the vote. That said, I'd be surprised if the majority of "yes" voters even took the time to read its wording - or worse yet understand it!

Any money saved by letting these criminals loose on society will be offset by increased insurance premiums!! We all end up paying in the end....

First of all, most are "assuming" these people are already criminals that have been caught! On ANY given night in the streets of the gated Blackhawk, it is so dark and many who are gone for the night or more, leave their beautiful home PITCH DARK! Oh boy says the bad guy, who may be a returning worker, a friend of someone who has worked in BH and oh yea maybe its a resident and he says, I know how to get around to see who is home and who is not! Spend a few dollars and get a timer for your inside lights, more than one is best. When you leave check doors, windows and garage doors. And most of all, be the eyes and ears, have the non emergency police number in your cell phone, more people need to get involved to stop this garbage!

Facts? Why wait for facts! We've saved up prejudices, grudges and assumptions aplenty, thanks.

Nope. We don' need no stinkin' facts.

Robberies are not about politics. That is ridiculous.
This is a safety issue .
Protect yourself .
There is not enough funding by homeowners to fund onsite 24 hour police protection.

@ SGT Friday

I dont understand what facts you are waiting for. Homes are being robbed all over this area and there can be no doubt the misplaced trust of the voters has been abused yet again. One party (any party) states are a bad idea. Way too much power and I would feel exactly the same way if the other party was in charge. Also if you wants decades of facts I can link to some very non PC ones from the DOJ if you wish.

This article is about an unsolved string of burglaries, about which we Know very little. The commenters above have clearly leapt to the conclusion that recently released offenders did it - lest they miss an opportunity to vent their collective spleen.

Trouble is, we don't Know that, and it only feeds paranoia to Assume it. Sometimes - hell, always - it's better to wait until the facts are in. Your mama told you that.

@SGT Friday

Past behavior is the best predictor of the future. You would have us think this is their first rodeo but DOJ stats say otherwise.
You are the guy that buys a car known for bad quality but decide each individual car deserves its own chance and then wonder what happend when your failed.

You know nothing about me. At all. But your comments suggest that you are extra-very-good at making assumptions about people you don't know, so why should I expect to be treated any differently? You should've listened to your Mama.

Here's what you actually know about those suspects - ready? One wears a hoodie.

Just the facts. man.

The fact is that Blackhawk is one of the wealthiest communities in the bay area and everyone knows it which in turn draws it right into criminals' sights. The news of a string of robberies there just confirms to criminals that the wealthy residents of Blackhawk make good targets for robbery since someone has been able to get into their homes and take their valuables.

In Danville it looks like burglaries have been on the rise since 2012, but you can judge for yourself.

Sorry, but politics do matter here, as California with its crazy propositions and 'social justice' judges and politicians are letting criminals stay out of jail, under some misguided compassion for them. Most of you are still asleep about it all.
There is so much compassion for the criminal. But where is the compassion for us hard working, law-abiding, tax-paying citizens? Neither the criminal or the public are being well served. Funny, the political and judicial system in California prefers that the thugs not be behind bars, but that the rest of us will have to live behind bars to be safe. and Yes, I bet you 95% that these thugs already have criminal records and are out on parole, or are currently wanted under a warrant!

Greg T is quite correct. If you take a simple risk vs reward view of certain types of crimes it clearly is a far less risky path now that Gov Brown got his proposition passed. There can be no doubt that this is a political issue and we all know who won and who lost on this deceptive prop. Gov Brown led the naive people down yet another BS path. The people here have spoken so do not complain when you things get stolen if you voted for this or vote for a D candidate. You voted for this so you can own it.

it is interesting. When the State says it needs a new jail the taxpayers go insane. When a proposition passes that 'eases' jail population, the taxpayers go insane.

When a new jail is funded, well than the NIMBYies go nuts when they find it is in their neighborhood.

Poor state can't win with taxpayers.

@ Scott Hale.

There is a large portion of the population of the state of california that have zero representation. That is the problem.
