Work begins for new bikeway path on Blackhawk Road

Construction, which began Monday, will consist of striping class two and three bicycle lanes for approximately four miles along Blackhawk Road between Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd and Camino Tassajara. Work is expected to be completed by June 8 but commuters along the road should expect delays during that time.

That's great. However, for the safety of all, it is essential that a safe bike path be installed between Green Valley and Mt. Diablo Scenic.

I totally agree with Arlene! Danville Town Council needs to step up and build safe bicycle lanes along narrow, substandard, winding Diablo Road between Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd. and Green Valley Road. Unless and until that happens, the Council must not approve the Magee Ranches 69+ home development, which will add nearly 1000 more cartrips to that dangerous corridor, and will make dangerous condition even more dangerous.
