San Ramon council sides with residents, denies new development on church land

Original post made on May 2, 2019

Please correct this story. There is MACRO cellular wireless facility onsite. The macro cell tower is located in the church's steeple. There is a small cell in the median in front of the church with underground facilities located on the church property.

Please correct the article... Althogh there is a small cell installation on the street side of the property, the main concern was the Macro Cell Tower concealed in the church steeple!! This is where the children in the proposed preschool would have been exposed to constant RF radiation; a seemingly small but very imoortant distinction. Thank you for your coverage!!!

Thank you for the feedback regarding the wireless cell facility at the church. We followed up with city officials and have amended the story to clarify: Deputy city manager Steven Spedowfski said the facility at the top of the church is classified as a distribution base station, which is smaller than a macro site but larger than a small cell site.
