Original post made on May 21, 2019

Members of the SRVUSD's administrative cabinet are in line to receive a pay raise when the school board discusses Tuesday approving a base salary increase that would match what teachers received in March.

This is a joke, right???? Management already receives an automatic 5% raise every couple of years on top of whatever the teachers union bargains for. Doesn't seem right.

Yes, they are! reason why teachers have a good reason to complain. It's just more property tax we all have to pay...

You do realize these administrators and ultimately the Superintendent are responsible for 32,000 students & 4500 staff members. Have any of you ever had a job with that much responsibility, pressure, stress, etc. etc.? A CEO of a private company with that many people involved would be making 5-10 times what these educators make. So before criticizing them for "being overpaid" you should walk a mile in their shoes. I bet none of you could last an hour, let alone a whole day dealing with the extremely high expectations a community like this has. Not to mention, to attract quality employees to a district this size and of this demographic you have to pay them what they're worth. And great schools equals much higher home prices, so your taxes are definitely working to your advantage!

Debbie, Rick Schmitt wouldn’t last a day as a CEO. Do you really want him around much less reward him for allowing a child to die on his watch? He’s shown his true character and I am disgusted he’s still the superintendent.
We do need good people I agree but this school board doesn’t appear to have the skills to select the right people to lead.

"potential appointment of a new director of human resources" Is Keith Rogenski going somewhere? Keith has a troubled past with a lawsuit in Antioch resulting in a 8 million dollar payout because of protecting a teacher who was abusing children. Another example of SRVUSD not doing it's research to insure the safety of our children.

FRUSTRATING! Approve more raises while avoiding all questions asked by the parents. I feel like parents have no voice in this district. Guess what, schools out at 1:15 PM teachers can plan more???? At SRVHS we have first year teachers who can't spell or have any grammar skills teaching English, or History teacher who avoids lecturing....just have kids type notes for 1 hour into a Google Doc for their entire period. The auto shop and robotics team figured out the teacher didn't talk to kids once for 2 years, and was letting them go to Starbucks during class. The quality of the education is a pity - never seen anything like it. Parents have no control- if we say anything our kids get 'black-sheeped' by the academic counselor. Good job- you get a raise! CEO! JOKE, the company would be corrupt and bankrupt. No the way parents, donate to reduce class size, while i take a 15% raise!

Admin continues to receive raises, while teachers cannot afford housing in the district. What’s wrong with this picture?

Carl, the "potential appointment of a new director of human resources" is not Rogenski. He is the Asst Superintendent of HR. Melanie Jones, director of HR, received a promotion to a new position made for HR to be a step below Rogenski and a step above the head of certificated HR and head of classified HR. This new position had an estimated cost of $250k. So this discussion would be about who would fill the position vacated by Jones when she was promoted.
