After acquiring a number of faux firearms from a recent investigation, the San Ramon Police Department wants to remind residents the danger of allowing children to play with realistic looking toy guns.

San Ramon police officers shared a photo of the recently acquired guns and asked residents if they could identify if they were real or fake, and if they could adequately make a split-second decision if confronted with the weapons.

“Parents – Please, do not let your child play with ‘toys’ that looks like real guns,” SRPD Capt. Denton Carlson, said on Twitter. “The danger could come from someone believing it is an actual firearm!”
