Just wait until they close the safe shortcut through Diablo Country Club to all cyclists avoiding Diablo Road. Sadly, this will not be the last of fatalities and injuries thanks to the Grinch from Diablo CC.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Jones family. I was on that very same route just hours before the accident. There are lots of cars parked on the side of the road, causing motorists to weave through them on this winding road.

A couple simple changes could help a lot. First, limit parking on the road side to only straight stretches and second, PAINT A LINE DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I realize there is likely not enough room for two regular width lanes that would warrant a dividing line, but its presence would cause drivers to slow down when they cross it.

Bicycles and 2ton cars do not mix, regardless of how many green colored bike lanes are promulgated. The only safe solution for bicycles is complete separation from autos, not by means of a painted line or green colored lane on pavement.
