During his campaign 4 years ago, he commuted to classifying BART as an “essential service” which would prevent employees from going on strike if talks between the union and management broke down. I don’t believe that has happened. Instead, he has pushed for a BARTInspector General which is a good first step, but why has it taken almost 4 years to get to this point? In the meantime, BART continues to raise fares, give annual raises above inflation to their employees, and the safety/security on their trains deteriorates.

In addition to BART issues, Mr Glazer should investigate EBMUD. They have raised water rates more than 20% in the past 5 years and continue to raise rates without adding capacity or other improvements. They are truly a monopoly and act like one. A total disregard for their customers.
