BART board adopts swing-style fare gates as preferred design

The BART Board of Directors voted unanimously on Thursday to adopt swing-style barrier gates as the transit system's preferred design for new fare gates to replace their traditional wedge-shaped orange gates.

The design of the new Bart gate appears to have a curved part of the frame. It looks like. Whole someone could slide thru. Why do they need a design like that?

$150,000,000 for fare gates. The proposed gates must be gold plated. Too bed BART isn't run competitively like a real private enterprise.
