Danville council to consider increasing garbage rates by 8%

In order for recycling and waste services to continue in Danville unimpeded, the Danville Town Council will consider recommending its waste services provider, RecycleSmart, increase rates for residential and commercial users by 8%.

Please Don't raise rates.. there service sucks !! we have to call almost every week because they didn't pick up one can or another on our whole street.. If this happen on your street please make comment and send letter to town.. IMPROVE GARBAGE SERVICE DON'T CHARGE US MORE FOR BAD SERVICE !!!

As I recall, Danville awarded the contract to a new trash/recycle company with an increase in our rates a couple of years ago. Now we are going to raise the rates again by 8%? Ppl on fixed income do not have the luxury of requesting an increase of their SS or pension benefits to keep covering these type of costs.

I sent the town manager an email-our garbage is often missed and debris is all over the street falling out of cans in the neighborhood. Service should improve before rates are raised.

I totally agree with all of these comments. The rates are already too high, especially for the service we receive.
