Questions for Danville Mayor Karen Stepper on Measure Y

Original post made by A concerned Danville Resident, Danville, on Feb 7, 2020

This week I received a 2 page letter from Danville Mayor Karen Stepper encouraging me to vote in favor of proposition Y. The letter is marked as a "Personal Note" from Mayor Karen Stepper, Town of Danville. The letter is fully paid for by Davidon Homes who is funding the Yes on Y campaign so they can build many houses. At the end of the letter it says "The Title (of Mayor) is for identification purposes only".

So here are my questions for you Mayor Stepper.

1) If its a "Personal Note" why did you use your official Mayor title? How many other Karen Stepper's are in Danville that someone might confuse you with? Or did you really just wanted to be identified as Mayor Karen Stepper?

2) Also if its a "Personal Note" from you then why is Davidon Homes paying for all of it?

3) If you are using your official Mayor title, then is it really a personal note? or a public endorsement of Davidon Homes by an elected town official?

4) Davidon Homes has sent text messages, robocalls to residents of Danville and even created a fake "Town Hall" telephone meeting. The Danville Town Attorney has asked Davidon Home to cease and desist from doing so. Were you aware of this when you sent the "personal note" or did Davidon Homes trick you as well?

5) In the fake Town Hall, why were all questions and replies screened and only those that supported Davidon Homes allowed airtime. It felt more like a circus with Davidon Homes as the ring master. Why did you choose to perform in it?

6) Given this and that your husband is in Real Estate, is there a conflict of interest here for you?

7) Why are you in support of an organization that is employing such deceptive practices?

8) Do you think this attempt to trick Danville Voters into voting Yes on Y will work? or will it backfire?
