Now maybe we can get a non-realtor, non-pro developer as mayor. We especially need a mayor who is driven by the expressed concerns of residents as opposed to the desires of Sunset development & other similar businesses.

I must take exception to the anonymous poster ("Resident") who impied that Mayor Clarkson's decisions as mayor have somehow been driven by his four-decades-long career as a residential real estate broker.

While "Resident" would have readers believe that under Mayor Clarkson's administration San Ramon is open territory for anything that real estate developers might want to do, and to the detriment of the City, the fact is that only one new housing development has been approved in San Ramon during this administration. Getting a new project approved is a long and arduous process, and almost all other developments in San Ramon have been in the works since long before the current administration.

The fact is that housing is of critical concern not only in San Ramon, but all over the Bay Area. We cannot afford to adopt a "NIMBY" state of mind. One way or another, we as a community must find ways to address our own housing shortage.

I take exception to “Joe Parsons”
Yes, mayor Bill has been VERY VERY good for Sunset development. How about some of the new development in Atherton where the Sunset Development owners live and not in our poor city. We need a mayor who listens to citizens and not developers.
First time in my life I am considering becoming a Republican before the corrupt Democrats ruin the state even more.

I also take exception to "Joe Parsons".
"Joe" you are not our parent and good riddance to Bill Clarkson. Hope he enjoys tax payer financed luxury retirement.
In 2019 there was an increased gas tax of 10 cents that was supposed to pay for fixing roads. What happened to it? Now in under 1 year we are being asked to pay more taxes. We need a fiscal conservative who is socially moderate to run the city like a business and not an agent of Sunset development. How about unset building new housing in Atherton where the owners live?
NO MORE TAXES, with the Corona virus in our area, maybe it is time to slow down the rapid congestion building and take stock of the situation before quality of life gets even worse and more companies leave our area for other states.
