Original post made on Mar 10, 2020

The effort to bring a Costco Wholesale store to Pleasanton hit a familiar roadblock last week when Pleasanton Citizens for Responsible Growth filed its second lawsuit against the city over environmental review for the JDEDZ.

The oppugnance of the environmental left is designed to replace common sense and reasoned judgement and be eternally stifling and to quash progress in the name of progressiveness (which is actually neo-progressiveness and has absolutely nothing to do with classical progressives of the late-1800's/early-1900's who ushered us into the industrial age - later hijacked forever by Woodrow Wilson and his modern-day acolytes on the neoprogressive left). This 'snail darter' mentality is authoritarian, ill-progressive and abuses the legal system. After all, how may bike paths are enough?

I guess Pleasanton must be flush with cash. The Danville Costco, which is barely inside the Town Limits, is the town's largest taxpayer. I have been told by reliable sources that it may be contributing as much as 25% of the sales tax revenue to the Town. So far as I can see, The Danville Costco is a welcome addition, and it is sited in a location that, like the proposed Pleasanton facility, keeps it in a commercial area. I mean who could possibly see a better location. I doubt there is going to be any "luxury homes" being built there as it is adjacent to the VCSD's sewage treatment plant! I just wished that the Danville Costco had the land to put in a service station to drive down the exorbitant gasoline prices in Danville/ San Ramon Corridor.
This week Costco Gas in Concord was $3.07.9, while prices in Danville were $3.75.9 and up!
