In competitive sports a winning record allows a coach to do whatever they want. Be it sexual abuse or walking away from a drowning boy. Aaron Becker the Varsity football coach of SRV High is still employed after his negligence resulted in the death of Ben Curry. If Aaron Becker was just a PE teacher he would have been suspended the day of the death and never returned to SRV high. But instead he showed up the next day after the death never to miss a day of class. Parents of players on the football team were very vocal that it was a mistake and it should not ruin Becker's career. The death of a student caused by a teacher is not a mistake it is gross negligence and the teacher should be fired.

SRV Parent well said, Aaron Becker walked away from a drowning student and left the pool deck with Ben Curry at the bottom of the pool. He then publicly announced that he had done nothing wrong and should not be held accountable or responsible for walking away from a drowning student.High School Coaches are supposed to be people with character and integrity who can help mentor student athletes, Aaron Becker lacks both of these traits.A man of character and integrity would have apologized for the grief he has brought the Curry family and resigned, the students at SRV who play football deserve better than this.
