Sen. Glazer calls for a second lockdown for most of California

Original post made on Jul 29, 2020

Tri-Valley State Sen. Steve Glazer (D-Orinda) is leaning on Gov. Gavin Newsom to enact another shelter-in-place policy for most parts of California until the COVID-19 virus is under control.

We have many different opinions from experts but shutting down our economy is not the answer. Glazer sounds to be a little short on facts with his alarmist rhetoric. Yes, this virus is nastier than the common flu that we deal with every year, but destroying our economy will also have long term impacts. We need to find a balance where we protect the vulnerable while also restarting our economy before it is dead in the water.

Well if Glazer is suggesting we go back to jail, I guess I'll just have to not vote for him again. What an incredibly damaging and just plain misguided idea at this point. We all need to be doing what we can safely do to control the spread. Glazer would rather destroy what is left of the economy rather than get people to manage their behavior better.

As previously reported here, Senator Glazer wants to raise our taxes. Now he wants to shut the economy down again. In addition, County Supervisors are promoting fines for violations of the mask, etc. mandates.
Meanwhile, there are serious questions regarding the way the CDC has been managing the COVID statistics, as well as the veracity of COVID test results.
It appears that many, if not all, deaths are now counted as COVID deaths. People who have not even been tested are being told they have tested positive.
Should we all be locked down again while these serious discrepancies remain unresolved?! Here is some information to ponder...

I wish Danville friends and neighbors would at least abide by the current state laws. Danville residents are not wearing masks in public, as required. A drive through downtown on a Friday evening reveals blatant disregard for the mask laws in public; also gathering for dinner, chatting with people outside your household, and not wearing a mask. Since this community is not willing to play by the current rules, local leaders like Glazer to need to crack down. When I go to Alameda county, the people walking down the street there do follow the mask rules, and yet in Danville so many will not help the greater good - so that kids can go back to school and grandmothers can go to the grocery store, and parents can go to work.

The alarmist rhetoric needs to end. I've been playing by the rules since day one, but I'm sick of it. The lockdown destroys our mental well being. It's mentally unhealthy. The virus will continue to spread, but we need people back at work, kids in school and everything open - with caution. Let the coronaphobes stay home, and the rest of us can return to normal. There is inherent risk in everyday living, and life goes on.

Glazer, along with a lot of other politicians, needs to go. What a moronic idea to suggest shutting down the economy again over a Virus that nobody can even provide semi-reliable statistics about. This is all about fear mongering and control. He can hide in his house in Orinda forever, the rest of us need to live with this and move on.

Sure depress the economy as much as possible before the election. Is he looking at statistics or cnn? Seems like he’s pandering to the ever woke left. Get rid of this guy! What a horrible idea.

Sadly it seems the lockdown is now causing more damage than the virus itself. Numbers are incorrectly reported, deaths are for those in high risk categories. That tells me the rest of the population can survive this. Why does the media only keep laser focussed on Covid-19 but not make much of a mention about all the people (especially children and families) who are now suffering from poverty due to job losses -apparently not everyone receives government assistance. Plus the suicide rates and domestic violence that are higher than ever before... Do the decision makers even take this into consideration or is it only about their political agendas? At this point we need to just be presented with the facts on how to minimize the spread (without a lockdown), let children go back to school (even if in smaller groups and under specific guidelines) which will allow us to continue to live our lives. There are other ways the most vulnerable can be protected. What I am thinking is that this simply another way for Big Brother to obtain more control over us. The virus made it so convenient. This is truly scary. We need to wake up, protect our freedoms and do what is right for the greater good.
