Candidates clash at Alameda County Board of Supervisors District 1 election forum

The two finalists for Alameda County Board of Supervisors District 1, Dublin Mayor David Haubert and Fremont City Councilman Vinnie Bacon, faced off in a candidate forum moderated by the Pleasanton Weekly on Monday.

Lest we forget, COVID-19 -- like the 2003 SARS epidemic -- was HUMAN-caused, a direct result of our gross mistreatment of animals, both wild and domestic.

It's been said that people who care about animals form the single largest lobby in the country. I would encourage both candidates to make public their views on animal welfare issues facing the county: wildlife protection, rodeos, calf roping, "wild cow milking," the environment, et al.
